Kids Art Society Exhibition Opening Sat 24 August 2013

Well done to all the amazing creative Cooktown Kids who opened our first ever Art Exhibition on Saturday. Thanks to Jacqui Collins-Herrmann 's daughter Chelsea for making a great speech on behalf of the young artists who exhibited their paintings and drawings. At the opening 35 painting were SOLD and several kids art prints calico bags as well as donations. Thanks to Jodi and Angie at RSL for baking delicious scones and banana cakes to sell and also beautiful mini cup cakes for the kids - they vanished very quickly! Also much thanks goes to Endeavour Lions for cooking up a beaut serve of sausages and onions which when eaten with potato salad, avocado, coleslaw and bread was a great lunch (thanks Kimberley Sullivan and Emma McGovern). George Theobald a Kids Art Society sponsor also attended and purchased three of the paintings! Thanks again George for you generous support!

Preparation is underway for the finale of the Kids Art Society with an exhibition of the Kids Art opening on:

Saturday 17th 24th August 
At the Elizabeth Guzsely Gallery from 10am - 1pm.  

No more posts of art works until after the opening as we want you all to be surprised!

Kids Art Session Saturday 4th May

Kids had a creative session with beads, modelling clay and card making!  I was also engrossed to the point that I forgot to take photos of the kids - here is some of the work they produced and much was taken home for Mother's day!  Hope mums liked it.
